The project

The last extension’s project of Bergamo’s Orio Al Serio International Airport – third airport in Italy for the number of passengers after Fiumicino and Malpensa – will soon be completed. The project, signed by Studio Architetti Caccia Dominoni – Zucca e Associati, provide an extension of 10.600 m², and a further intervention of 2.300 m².

The work area lies at the extreme left of the airport – at the east – and the new construction will develop on three levels, providing optimal space disruption. It is expected to construct five more Nation gates in the Schengen area, three new boarding towers, three new tapes for luggage’s collection, commercial spaces, offices and one infirmary.

Gualini Spa is taking care of the coverings, supplying and installing sunshades and external glazed facades with stick curtain walls. The new surfaces have similar characteristics to the previous but – at the same time – are coherent with the high performances requested by the new building.
